2 lb ground Turkey
1/2 cup Jalapeños (diced)
1/2 cup White Onion (diced)
3 strips Pepper Bacon
1 cup plain Bread Crumbs (or substitute panko break crumbs for a gluten-free option)
3/4 cups BBQ Sauce (use your favorite or check out Crop & Kettle’s recipe here.)
Salt & Pepper to taste
Cook bacon strips using preferred method until fully crisp
Set bacon on paper towels and let dry
Sauté onion and jalapeños in a small skillet until tender then set aside to cool
Crumble bacon into small pieces (approximately 1/4”x1/4” or smaller)
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, sautéed jalapeño & onion, bacon pieces, bread crumbs, BBQ sauce, salt & pepper
Mix all ingredients thoroughly
Set up grill for direct cooking over medium-high heat (425-450degrees)
To make meatballs:
Divide mixture and roll into 1-2oz balls (approximately 1.5” in diameter”).
Mixture makes approximately 20-25 balls
Season the meatballs lightly with salt & pepper to taste
Grill the balls for 5-6min, rolling 2-3 times during grilling
The meatballs are finished when they reach an internal temperature of 165deg
Plate those bad boys, drizzle them with some extra Q-sauce, and stick a fork in ‘em!
To make burgers:
Divide mixture and form into 6-8 patties
Season each side of the patties lightly w/ salt & pepper to taste
Grill patties for 7-8min, turning once during grilling
Burgers are finished when they reach an internal temperature of 165deg
Dress with your favorite bun, cheese, condiments, and toppings and get your chow on!
